Did you know that when a torah is no longer repairable they bury it in a cemetary? Well, our synagogue has declared this year the "Year of the Torah" and therefore we got to experience burying one.
They have a ceremony at the synaogue. You have the opportunity to go up and feel, touch, read, kiss the torah. This is something not everyone gets to do. Then we proceed to the cemetary to bury the torah. It was actually really amazing and something most people don't get to experience.

i've heard of that, but we've never participating in such a ceremony. it sounds very enlightening.
Sounds like a rare event to participate in--so lucky for the boys to experience it!
