Trip to the Zoo

After Ian had his surgery and needed another day to recover we decided to go to the park. It was a very pleasantly cool day and as you can see, Ian was not feeling so terrible that he couldn't pull Daniel around everywhere in the wagon.

Here is Daniel checking out the giraffes.

We got to see them washing the elephants up close and personal - I didn't use any zoom here. It was really cool. The sad part. The day after this picture was taken the baby elephant died.

Here is Daniel with his little friend Bennett. Very cute and now they play together rather than just side by side.
We stopped by Bennett's house the other day to pick up some books for Alex to read and Bennett was napping. When it was time for Daniel to nap he kept saying "I nap like Bennett". So sweet.
As for Alex reading- he is doing wonderfully. He lays in bed and reads to himself beginner books. He so badly wants to be able to read just like Ian. We went and got books from Blythe because she is a reading tutor and has an entire library and it is already sorted by reading level. Pretty amazing!

Here is Daniel pulling Bennett and Ian :)
It was a really good time but it turned out to be a little bit too much for Ian, even though it was 2 days after his surgery and he felt great at the beginning of the day. Sadly he had a very slow recovery but happily is fully recovered now.

We had a horrible experience at TCH and although I won't bother rehashing it at this point it was very frustrating and I may contact someone to complain. They should edit their pre-op instructions so as not to confuse future patients.
