I'm totally addicted to FreeRice.com. Although most Internet addictions are trivial diversions, this one actually has a purpose: Helping relieve world hunger.
FreeRice.com is brainchild of Poverty.com. The site itself is a simple vocabulary quiz. You're given a word, along with four possible answers. For every correct answer, FreeRice.com donates 10 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program. The money needed to buy the rice comes from advertisements that display at the bottom of the page.
And although 10 grains doesn't sound like much, as of today, FreeRice.com has donated enough money to buy approximately 195,074,730 grains of rice. (The site just started on the 7th of October.) That number is going to skyrocket, because this website is genuinely addictive. Time will melt away like an ice cube on a hot summer day.
So, if you need to goof off, at least do so with an altruistic goal. (That, and hey, your vocabulary may improve; it's a good thing.)

Ok, I just did it for about 10 minutes and donated 430 grains of rice, ending on vocab level 30. Did anyone else do it?
I was the same. vocab level 30 and 400 grains.
