Today Alex turned 4 years old. Can you believe it? Here are a few photo ops from the days activities.

One of many things that crack me up about kids. ON their birthday they "get to" set the table and pick two friends to help. What an honor. Really? Darren says that in the corp they got "priviledges" like that.

Here is the class singing happy birthday

How cute is alex? They put a candle on a chair and then they give the birthday boy a globe. The candle is the sun. He is the earth and they sing while he circles it four times, stopping each time for something he did that year of his life. Very cute tradition.

And he circles

Here the production continues (how they get anything else done is beyond me) where they put four hoola hoops down and count to four in hebrew as he jumps from hoop to hoop.

And to me this is a cruel custom. They give him all the muffins for the class and he is supposed to hold them and dance, sitting and standing while they sing to him. What would happen if he dropped that huge tray of muffins? Thank god, that did not happen.

Oh and on your birthday you are supposed to give the class a present. I talked Alex out of buying water for the class (yes that is really what he wanted to get them) and he decided on dinosaur bones (fun yet educational)

Ian came to celebrate with Alex in his classroom.

They sang and lifted him up to celebrate (yes the production does come to an end)

Darren came home early and they opened some gifts from the family. Here is the remote control car that Grandma Cindy bought. Very cool if I must say so myself (if we could just get Darren to stop playing with it)

Here is the ninja turtles costumes we bought the boys.

Alex wouldn't wear the mask. And darren is getting dizzy blowing up that punching thing in the background.

Of course they don't punch it, they pick it up and slam it down. Will definitely have a hole within the week.

Here they are racing the car off the ramp we have for skateboarding.

Chasing the car around while Darren plays with it.
Overall a very fun day and we look forward to Sunday's birthday PARTY!!!

Can I go to Alex's school on my birthday? How special did he feel???
Great photos!
Looks like a lot of fun. I hope he had a very happy birthday and that sunday's party is fun. Are mom, dad, Jody, etc. coming for the party? Wish we could be there!
I guess I didn't get the present there in time. Should I mail it or should we just let Harrison and Alex exchange their gifts the next time we see you?
