As I sit here I will state something I don't usually put out there. I am terrified. Daniel had a horrible episode where he couldn't breathe yesterday morning and all I can think of is please God don't let him die on me.
He awoke chocking and gagging, not able to breathe with a cough and asthma attack that we don't know what triggered it. He spent a long time having breathing treatments and is on steroids now. Things appear to be fine and have been for the last 24 hours but I can't help but worry. I am jumpy and worried at every noise or cough that comes out of his mouth. I have tried not to think about it but the more I try not to think about it the more I do so I will now turn to prayer.
I am sorry that I don't openly talk about my relationship with God. It is something extremely personal to me but at times like this I seek support and help where I can.
I know that technically he isn't sick but I pray anyway that his breathing troubles are healed. That he is part of my life until I pass from this world. I pray that for all my children. I have said Psalms tonight and now I ask you to pray too. If you don't know what to say and can't find your own words then here are a few for you.
Thank you.
The prayer in English translation
May the One who blessed our ancestors --
Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
Matriarchs Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah --
bless and heal the one who is ill:
Daniel son Darren
May the Holy Blessed One
overflow with compassion upon him
to restore him
to heal him
to strengthen him
to enliven him
The One will send him, speedily,
a complete healing --
healing of the soul and healing of the body --
along with all the ill,
among the people of Israel and all humankind,
soon,
speedily,
without delay,
and let us all say: Amen!

hope he stays ok! keep us posted. asthma is scary.
I just saw this and since I heard him on your cell asking for a snack, I KNOW he is on the mend. This is a beautiful prayer and I thank you for sharing it (and your life) with everyone.
